picture overload!

These have been a long time coming! Here's Z fooling around with her Daddy. What a goof!!
At her first Red Sox game (it was the Futures at Fenway games where we saw the Lowell Spinners and the Pawtucket Red Sox!).
Swimming with Auntie D in Z's pool AT the beach...the water was perfect! The ocean? Not so much!
Z's reading "It Looked Like Spilled Milk". She loves the book! It's captivating and has lots of action! ;)
Her new spiked 'do. She loves her bath time!
She scooted herself over to the cat toys...apparently, they're more fun than hers??

Oh, how fun a wet paper towel is!

In her newest toy--an exersaucer! It converts to a walker that she can push around later! It doesn't look it, but she LOVES it!

Batter Up!

Yesterday, we went to Fenway Park. Noah had gotten tickets to the Futures at Fenway games for Father's Day, and we couldn't have had a better day! First, we got to see the Lowell Spinners win in fine fashion, and then that was followed up by a great game by the Pawtucket Red Sox winning as well! Our little Zoe was there in fine fashion in a Red Sox onesie, her baseball cap, and a smile to light up the park. She thoroughly enjoyed it all, looking at the game (sorta), watching the people around us (lots), loved the clapping (lots), and danced to all the music played. She was wonderful! She napped a couple of times (can you believe that?) but just enough to recharge her for more baseball watching.

We couldn't have asked for better seats. When I ordered the tickets, I picked "best available". That gave me $20 seats....good deal, huh? I mean for 2 games, right? Well, it got even better when I looked up the face value for these tickets....$90! That's right! We were sitting 17 rows from the field on the left field side. We were SO close, it was amazing. We watched for foul balls, but only 2 came relatively close to us...I'm sure if this was a Boston Red Sox game, the balls would be flying even more! I don't think we'll ever get to sit that close for a game with the big leaguers!

We had so much fun, the day was perfect, our angel loved it, we've planned to return there again. Anyone want to join us next year?

Alas, Daddy didn't make the cut..

in the voting for the look alike. How, I don' t know. But here is the voting. http://www.girlsoxnation.com/community/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=236&Itemid=143 How they narrowed it down, I'll never know. What a let down!

Voting Update

I just checked the website, GirlSox Nation, and Noah's picture is up, but it doesn't show what to do, how to vote or anything like that. It doesn't even really indicate that it's a contest. I also had to hunt around. If you want to look at the pic, go to "photos", "girlsox events", and "Jimmy Fund Fantasy Day - Player Look-a-Likes". As I said, right now it's nothing more than Noah's picture, but I sent an email asking how to vote. I want a weekend in Boston!!

And no, I haven't seen anything about the At Bat Stance contest yet.

Fenway Fun!

Today, Z went to Fenway Park and Boston for the first time EVER. She went with her Mommy and Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa C. We had gotten tickets for her Grandpa C for Father's Day to the Jimmy Fund Fantasy Day. What a fun day with all the proceeds going to the Jimmy Fund. Daddy entered a player look-a-like contest. If you think he looks like Kevin Youkilis then go here to cast your vote. At "press time" it's not up on the website, so when I know how to vote, I'll update. Also, you can vote for Grandpa C for "At Bat Stance" Impersonation. He impersonates Kevin Youkilis at bat. (You're going to have to look through this youtube video until the guy in it is imitating Youk comes up to the plate. I tried to find video of Youk at the plate, but couldn't. If someone else can find a video, please forward me the link and I'll update this!). You can vote at the same that you vote for Noah from! If Noah wins, then we get a weekend in Boston, tickets to a baseball game, and Grandma and Grandpa C have offered to babysit! Grandpa C would win a book.

We got lots of pictures and had lots of fun. Enjoy the pictures! Sorry they're sideways. I wanted to get them up right away, and wasn't patient to let Noah rotate them.

Littlest Member of Red Sox Nation

As you can see, Zoe's taken quite a liking to watching baseball...look carefully at the tv screen in the second picture, and you'll see the defensive positions being listed for the Orioles. I show this only to illustrate what I found when I came back from the bathroom. I'd been cuddling with Z on the couch but needed to put her down. She had been on the floor but next to the tv, parallel, with her feet facing the front door of our house. I come back to this. She had been a little fussy when I put her down but she was as calm as could be when I got back. What a good girl to know what to focus on! Now let's hope the team doesn't cause her as much frustration as it does every other Sox fan!! BTW, if you close enough, you can see her baseball rattle she had had next to her. In her travels, it ended up between her legs!

I'd like to point out.

that Zoe has been sleeping consistently at least 5-6 hours a night. Some nights have been 7+, but they are usually consisting of 5-6 hours. This is considered THROUGH THE NIGHT! The other night, she slept 8, but I think that was because of the vaccinations.

Speaking of which, she had a slight fever yesterday, but it's gone. She's back to her normal self--fighting me with naps, getting fussy when she doesn't get her way right away....and lots of smiles in between.

Before I go join her on the floor to watch the Red Sox beat the Angels, I'd like to direct you to the bottom of the page. There is a ticker to count up to her first birthday. How'd Mommy do??

More Milestones to Report!

Zoe has made a couple of good milestones recently. Mommy has been bragging away to anyone who will listen!

  • Zoe has grown out, completely, of her take home outfit. When Daddy uploads pictures, I'll be sure to put comparison pictures to show the difference! It's amazing when you look at that! That red jumper just looks so different on her now than she did that first day home from the hospital.
  • Zoe has begun to notice more inanimate objects and showing pleasure from them. She's starting to smile at them. Specifically, she smiles at her ladybug mobile when she's in her crib. Zoe's really able to show us how happy of a baby she is. She smiles more and more every single day, with big grins, open mouth smiles, and just cute little devilish ones.
  • The most fun accomplishment is that she LAUGHED for the first time this morning. Mommy said hello to her and she just laughed. :) Of course, we haven't heard it since, but I'm sure it was the first of MANY laughs for Zoe!

Today, Zoe went to work with Mommy. Mommy was asked to help with some work, as a consultant, for the teachers. Of course, Mommy couldn't leave Zoe for what would have been about 5 hours, start to finish, so Zoe came to school! She met more of Mommy's friends, more of her students, and was just a golden angel. She slept most of the time, and when she didn't, she would coo and smile at Mommy. She only cried when she was hungry!

Zoe's also discovered the idiot box known as the T.V. Mommy and she were playing on the floor in the living room, and she discovered the T.V. on with the Red Sox. She was mesmerized. Is this is a good thing? Well, it does help keep her distracted, but it probably isn't a good habit for her to develop now! Eh, we'll work on this!
