I'm Zoe Beautiful...

Zoe is running around the kitchen shouting, "oh yeah!! oh yeah!! Everyone clap" while wearing her cinderella dressup shoes, socks, animal print sweat pants, strings of dark green, blue, purple, and light green pearls, a white pearl bracelet, and a pink jammy shirt with santa and reindeer on it....my stylin' daughter.

Noah says, "Zoe, you're a fashion plate." Zoe replies, "I'm not a fashion plate, I'm Zoe Beautiful!".

...and is back to running around like before.

I couldn't be more proud

This morning Zoe decided that she would like to watch a movie. When I asked her which one she wanted to see, she started to look through every DVD we have out. As she got into the Blu-Ray movies, she noticed that one of them was still unopened, so she pulled it out to ask me about it.

So which movie was it? Army of Darkness, one of my favorite movies, and one that is definitely not appropriate for her. I said, "Zoe, you won't like that one because it is scary." Of course, that got her really interested.

"What movie is it, Daddy?"

"It's called Army of Darkness."

"Army of Darkness? I love that movie! I want to watch it right now!"

Do you think Zoe has enough stuffed animals???

This isn't even a fraction of what she really has.....

Please, no more stuffed animals. Please...

more quotes from Zoe...

Today is a snow day...

taken with my cell phone...forgive the quality!!

Zoe is in her jammies, jamming out on her drum. She stops, holds up her stick, and says, "laaaadies and geeeentlemen, booooyyyys and giiiiiiirrrrrlllls...Presentiiiiiiiing, ME!!!!" then she starts to bow from her seat and says, "thank you, thank you, thank you very much." and goes on drumming.

Then, she is standing on the chair in the living room (not supposed to, but she was...bear with me). She turns to me and asks, "Is it fun being high?"

I'm *pretty* sure she meant, high up off the ground.

Yeah, that's it. We'll go with it.

And, for the record. I have no idea if it's fun being high.

hmmmm...

As I was asking Zoe what she wanted to eat for dinner, since she didn't the delicious homemade mac and cheese I was making (she's nuts...if it's not the box stuff, she won't touch it), she tells me, "My udder mudder, Andi, lets me eat cookies for dinner."

oooohhhhh-kay...

Well, THIS mother only lets her have cookies AFTER her dinner if she's eaten what we feel is an appropriate dinner. :)

Oh, and yes, she did eat enough of her pasta with butter and cheese to get a cookie.

Where does she get this stuff??

I was putting on a dress on one of her dolls. I told her to come and get it, adding "young lady" to the end of it. She tells me, "I'm not a young lady!" I said, "yes, yes you are!!" Then she stops, turns to me and says...

"I doubt it!"

Just Now...

Zoe looked out the window of our house....

Zoe: "Mommy, there's no more snow on the street!"
me: "I know, honey!"
Zoe: "My people did a good job shoveling!!"

Okay then...

Zoe's Newest Craze

...it would be peach yogurt.

*I* am not a fan, but her great-grandmother, my Memere, looooooved all things peach. She'd be so proud her namesake shared her love of peach. :)

Zoe Logic 101

Zoe just came to me and said in a pitifully sad voice, "Mommy, I need hot chocolate so I will stop coughing." And she coughs the quietest forced cough she could muster up.

How do you say no to that?? Her hot cocoa is currently cooling down so she'll be able to sip it.

Color Creations...

So, Zoe thought it'd be fun to color (with crayons) on the ceramic tile in the kitchen. Of course, no artwork would be complete without coloring IN the grout.

Thankfully, a baby wipe pretty much got it all up.

And, no, there's no picture of the evidence. I was too focused on figuring out how to get it off the grout to think to get a picture.

Celebrations!

Right after Christmas, we had some celebrations. First, it was Grammy's birthday (she was 29 again!)...

Night Time Troubles

For awhile now, we've had a tough time going to sleep. They would get slightly better, but then went down hill again. I think it started the night she got sick in her crib. I'll spare you the details. Trust me when I say, it'd probably freak me out from going in my bed, if I were in her situation.

When it was on an upswing, we had figured we'd try Operation Binky Removal. Zoe only uses her bink at night and in her crib. We had talked it up for a couple of weeks....talk about how the Binky Fairy would come, take her binky to new babies who needed them, and then would leave a gift. At first, Zoe wasn't buying it. In true Zoe fashion, she would tell us, "Only SANTA leaves toys!" After we explained that the Fairy could also leave toys, and even asked her what she would want, she requested a Rapunzel doll. You see, she saw the movie (her first) over Christmas break, and LOVED it! At that point, we thought she was okay with it. Zoe was a bit hesitant with the whole losing the binky situation, but she went with it...until push came to shove.

We set up a nice container to put the binky in...she wanted to cover it with a cloth, and as she did that, I asked her to say bye-bye to it, and to tell it to be good to the new babies it'd help. We thought that'd work...the Potty Fairy worked, so why not the Binky Fairy??

That night was rough. There was lots of crying, saying she was scared of the dark, etc. The next day, a Saturday night, she was so tired from falling asleep in the car, she just went right down without fighting with us. We thought we were on our way to success. The following night, Sunday....yeah, that was bad. Back to a similar MO as Friday. She asked for multiple stories, asked for us to sit with her, keep the door open, etc.

Monday night was so rough that she had a tough time sleeping, and then woke up at around midnight. Nearly inconsolable. I stayed up with her until 4am..at least I think it was 4am. That's when I finally made her shut her light and *I* fell asleep on her floor.

Tuesday night, we gave in. We gave it back. We need our sleep more than we needed her to NOT have the binky. Concessions were made...she had to send Rapunzel back to the Binky Fairy. She can ONLY have the bink IN the crib (not running around upstairs like before), and she doesn't get it at daycare anymore. She knows, when she wants her Rapunzel doll again, she just has to give back the binky. I have a feeling we'll be hiding the doll for awhile!

Even with the binky back, we still have had tough nights. She doesn't want to sleep by herself and insists that we need to be with her. Last night, we just let her cry until she fell asleep. It didn't get to the puking stage, thankfully, but it was still hard to listen too.

Tonight there was no fight.

And, yes, she's still in a crib. She loves that thing. We've talked about big girl beds, but she's not really interested. She did tell us that OUR bed is her big girl bed. Um, no, but we'll convert her crib to a bed when she's ready. Like, when she goes off to college at this point. ;)

Quotes from Zoe

Zoe: You know, Mommy, I don't like mud. Mud is dirty.
me: Yes, it is, honey.
Zoe: Someone needs to put something in it to clean it up!

Alrighty then...

later...we made corn muffins. First she tells me:

Mommy, I like corn muffins...I just don't like corn.

Then when it's time to eat one...

Mommy, I don't like corn muffins, but I do like muffins.

And she ate an entire corn muffin....

STITCHES!

Zoe had Noah and me in stitches tonight...unintentionally, I think.

She was on the potty, just before bed tonight, and she saw her stacking cups on the floor (for the tub). She wanted them, and we had said no, because we were trying to speed up the process to get onto the rest of our bedtime routine. She gets very indignant about it and starts to pout. She makes her voice deeper, bends her head down, looking at Noah (as if she were looking over glasses), points to her face and says, "Look at this face. I have a BIG FROWN."

Oh, my goodness....I about died. I started to laugh SO hard and had to walk away (I didn't want her to think I was laughing AT her!). Noah basically mirrored what she did until Zoe was also laughing, and by that time, we were ALL laughing together.

My goodness, she's got quite the flair for the dramatic!

Zoe "Reading"

Well, sorta. The other night and then again tonight, instead one of us reading to her, she chose to 'read' to us. She knows the story of Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss. What she did was follow the pictures, and tell us the story, picture by picture. Favorite phrases, "I do not like green eggs and ham, I do not like them in a box, I do not like them with a fox, I do not like them with a mouse, I do not like them in a house...Try them, you'll like it!" This repeats for awhile, as you can imagine, until....

"I like it! I like green eggs and ham. I like green eggs and ham. I like green eggs and ham. And they lived happily ever after. The end."

:) I love this girl!
